Attention – Manual Bail Design To reduce line twist, we always recommend manually closing the bail arm after making a cast on any spinning reel. On size 3000 & 4000 Kapstan Elite reels, you can turn the handle to close the bail if you prefer. However, size 5000/6000 & 8000 reels require you to manually close the bail to begin the retrieve. Turning the handle will not close the bail automatically on these larger sizes – this is a performance feature, not a defect. Simply make your cast and manually close the bail to begin your retrieve.
